Young Poets’ Stories at NATE Conference

On Saturday 12th November 2022 we will be giving a keynote lecture at Re-imagining English, Re-connecting English teachers NATE Conference 2022 at Manchester Metropolitan University. The keynote will focus on findings from Young Poets’ Stories research and the implications these might have for other young writers. We will explore what we are learning about young poets’ writing and its relationship with their mental health along with the potential impacts of poetry mentoring and network opportunities as these young people develop their writing identities in the years after their success in the Foyle Young Poets’ Awards.

This is the first of a sequence of publication and dissemination events currently being planned for 2022-24. These will take place in Nottingham, Manchester and Exeter and online. Many of these will involve Young Poets.
