During what has been a very strange July and August 2020 for everyone we have really enjoyed interviewing our sample group of young poets for the first time about their development as writers. We want to say a big thank you to them all for their time, enthusiasm and patience. In sharing their stories about poetry writing they have already given the research team so much to think about in terms of writing processes, writing communities as well as what kinds of mentoring and support young poets most value. We are looking forward to catching up with them again next year, as their stories unfold further, and hope that their interviews will make a significant contribution both to supporting young people’s poetry writing development and to poetry research.
